The Assam Bari Irish Breakfast, also referred to as simply the Irish Tea, was created for Irish consumers at the turn of the last century. Irish Breakfast, unlike its predecessor English Breakfast, is much stronger, with a more intense flavour and stronger colour.
Assam tea is a black tea named after the production area in Assam, India. Assam tea is nowadays mainly grown at or near sea level and is known for its fullness, freshness, urban flavour and strong colour. Assam tea or blends containing it are often sold as ‘morning tea’.
